Due to the numerous reports to and from Columbia Gas, the police, and municipalities, it has been concluded a road closure of Wexford Run Road and Shenot Road is necessary for the safety of the workers working on the pipeline replacement project, as well as public safety. This will also aid in an expedited final completion date for the project in time for when school begins. Tentatively, the roads will be closed Friday July 21st by order of the Northern Regional Police Department until PENNDOT approves a detour route (which is when the signs will be approved to be set up for detours). Below is a tentative detour route. The road will be open for local traffic, emergency vehicles, and mail deliveries-- but there can be a significant wait time (not for emergency vehicles) for those vehicles traveling through the closed road for the safety of the workers and public. Columbia Gas is responsible for notifying residents effected by the road closure who live around the work zone on Wexford Run Road, Oak Grove Road, and Crystal Springs Road (Shenot Road is a Marshall Township road).
The Borough apologizes on behalf of Columbia Gas for the inconvenience and frustration this necessary project has created. We hope this road closure will expedite the project.
BELOW IS THE MAP OF THE PENDING PLAN FOR ROAD CLOSURE/DETOUR ROUTES: Penndot is pending an approval, but the closure will be in effect via NRPD due to safety concerns
