2018 Road Construction Information

The Borough of Bradford Woods has contracted with Shields Asphalt Paving, Inc via the public bid process to provide road resurfacing services for the 2018 season. Your cooperation and understanding through the process is appreciated, as there may be some delays and inconveniences. Please travel with caution to protect yourself, your vehicle, and the workers. During the road resurfacing process, there will be manholes, water valves, and inlets that will be exposed and marked with cones and/or neon paint. Please use caution until the final asphalt has been placed.

Tentative Road Construction Schedule

  • Starting May 7, Shields will tentatively begin pipe replacement on the following roads: Chestnut Rd, Lake Rd, and E. Harding Rd. Chestnut and Lake will be open only to residents living on the roads, but otherwise closed. There are alternate routes around Chestnut and Lake. E.Harding is a dead-end- residents will be notified by Shields paving (scheduled tentatively for Wednesday(9)/Thursday(10)) and ask to prepare schedules accordingly. Pipe replacement will include opening the entire road.
  • Tentatively, the week of May 21st, Shields will begin resurfacing Chestnut, Lake, E. Harding, Burry, Cedar. Shields will be sending a letter out to residents on the streets to be resurfaced before the date they begin paving for notification.

During the construction process, if a Shields crew member asks you to wait prior to driving on the roadway, it is in your best interest to follow their instructions to avoid damages to your vehicle or the new asphalt. After paving is completed, please do not park on the curb for 30 days, as it may cause damage.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation during the project!
